We scripted, designed and animated an engaging film that explained why a carbon charge matters, and how it could help deliver net zero. The film was built for social distribution with captions, strong hooks and platform-native aspect ratios, and was delivered alongside cutdowns and stills for partner toolkits.
Change
Zero Carbon Campaign asked the UK Prime Minister to commit to a carbon charge across the economy ahead of COP26. They needed an accessible explainer that would cut through confusion around carbon pricing, show the gap between targets and action, and mobilise people to support the policy. Our brief was to create a short, social-first film that made the case clearly and persuasively.
Makers
We assembled a team that included a senior short-form producer and a specialist animator. Scripting and project management were led by an experienced content director with years in issue-led production, ensuring clarity of message and a tight delivery. A focused music search helped us choose a score that added emotional weight and relevance, so the film cut through and moved people to pay attention.
Impact
The film became the campaign’s core explainer, aligning how supporters, partners and influencers talked about a complex policy. It was used across social, email and briefings to simplify the case for a carbon charge and keep messages consistent. The film provided a shared reference point for engagement and advocacy, and was part of a mobilisation that secured 108,802 petition signatures and a Parliamentary debate ahead of COP26.
