We produced over 100 accessible, culturally appropriate materials in four Ethiopian dialects. We designed leaflets, posters, training booklets and guidance documents. Designs were tailored to both community settings and professional contexts, with clear messaging and visuals to support understanding across literacy levels.
Change
UN Women needed a suite of print materials to support women displaced by conflict and crisis across Ethiopia. The goal was twofold: to help vulnerable women understand their rights and access support, and to train humanitarian workers on a zero-tolerance approach to sexual exploitation and abuse.
Makers
We built a diverse creative team including experienced female designers and artworkers, working across four languages: Somali, Tigrinya, Oromo and Amharic. The project was led by a seasoned women’s rights campaigner with a background in anti-FGM and social change communications, ensuring both cultural insight and campaign expertise.
Impact
The materials were distributed by UN Women and local partners to internally displaced communities and frontline workers across targeted regions. They continue to play a vital role in raising awareness, supporting vulnerable women and strengthening humanitarian protections in high-risk settings.
